Sant'agata, olive oil, Italy

Sant’Agata d’Oneglia history is connected with history of Taggiasca olives kind that arrived in Liguria with the help of Benedictine in 1600. In 1827, one of the oldest families in the region – Mela family – committed itself to olive oil production from these a little bit sweet olives. The first oil was isolated by using small stone press that needed serious physical efforts. Nowadays more modern ways of production are used that provides high quality of oil.
